Make love, and war - The wedlock of equilibrium - CMI.94

Outburn, June 2001

The music of sensuality and destruction.

Make Love, And War (The Wedlock Of Equilibrium) is the second half of a seemingly mismatched dichotomy initiated earlier in 2001 by Make Love, And War (The Wedlock Of Roses). But, within the wicked realm of Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, the seemingly mismatched (Love and War) merge into a ballet of sensuality and death, of sexuality and apocalypse, serving as catalyst for a wanton celebration! Within the O.R.E. ideals, war is a trigger for libidinous recreation (be it willing or not), therefore The Wedlock OF Equilibrium is a collection of lascivious sonic psalms, inscribed in semen and sweat. The music is of a darker spirit than on The Wedlock Of Roses, the
acoustic guitar and spry synths driven by martial percussion (a sense of marching out to war is present throughout), creating a neo-classical vista, further brushed with vocal samples and trimmed with organic textures. The songs create a tenuous balance (equilibrium), from those thrust by a more lyrical approach and recited with the lucid insistence of a perverse storyteller (the joyful promiscuity promoted by "Rituals Of Love, In The Passage Of Genocide/Song for Rose"). To those more atmospherically aligned (and cluttered, therein), accentuating the aspects, and overall darker tint, of war (the childlike voices caught in a disorientating dream of ringing metal during "Ode To The Beloved And Impaired"). Make Love, And War (The Wedlock Of Equilibrium) is an intriguing trek through minefields and fleshscapes alike, attaining a kind of tenuous balance amidst blood and desire.
