comprendido - time stop - CMI.49

Heresy Magazine #2

Ahh, the almighty General has returned with another fine release. Admittedly, I don't find this quite as enticing as the Benevolence album, and I suggest this is due to the more trance like nature of Comprendido. As a matter of interest, the tracks I found to be the finest are in fact ,two older pieces; Benevolence, from the album of the same name, and Tender Lover, from the Karmanik Collection cd. Perhaps this is attributed to their presence being more intensive than the other tracks. Some interesting ideas are of course explored, and as I feel Deutsch Nepal to be on of the best dark industrial terrorists, what the listener do hear, is of course superb. My criticism is perhaps a personal one, and that is directed at the minimalist nature of many of the orchestrations, and the looping style effects. World Mirror is a more industrial centered piece, and the pulsing welts of Morgue Restaurant results in another standout track. With the inclusion of Gouge Free Market, there is a total of three out of the ten tracks that have been previously released, although I would not let this discourage anyone from buying this album. The structures and auras are finely crafted, and there is no doubt that here is a man who has a great understanding, and control over this musical medium. My criticism is merely that my desired go unfulfilled.

Nordic Vision #9

Dark ambient industrial music from this very established outfit. The music is dark and haunting, repetitive but not really monotonous. Kind of hypnotic and dark trancefilled and surely nothing for those who are afraid of the dark.
