As most of you probably know by now, the third issue of the already widely famous newsletter has been released - rush to get your copy, there's an edition of 4000 and you don't wanna miss out on this little cutie. This autumn edition contains interviews and articles featuring MZ.412, Raison d'être, ConSono, Penitent, Ordo Equilibrio, Puissance, Hagalaz (Nachthexe's little gathering) and much more. It also announces the new Cold Meat side label Cruel Moon which "will deal with dark, ancient, occult, folk-oriented music. The first releases will be three different american bands/projects, all highly interesting and really professional stuff".

As far as CMI releases go, it announces the following for the winter:

Raison d'être - Within the depths of silence and phormations - CMI.38

A new astonishing work from Peter Andersson. Dark mesmerizing atmospheric/ritual chants. An expedition into the hidden parts of your inner self.

Penitent - Melancholia - CMI.39

Deep into the norse woods, gathered around the fire, Penitent dances in honour to death. Majestic poetry and dark atmospheric music protecting the territories of Norway. A masterpiece!

Sampler - Hearts of shadow gods - CMI.40

Sampler with Arcana, Aphrael, Penitent, Puissance (2x7" pic.disc).
A special limited edition sampler. First edition: 2 picture disc 7" with 2 tracks from each group. 1 group/side, gatefold sleeve and limited to only 500 copies! It has become a tradition at Cold Meat to release a sampler each 10th release, so this will be cat.no CMI.40 and will also present the newest bands on Cold Meat, well Arcana we all know and love with their contribution for the ...and even Wolves compilation CD (CMI.30).

MZ.412 - Burning the temple of God - CMI.41(?)

A new black industrial assault from this formation who has all of a sudden become a really active band. Their last CD "In Nomine Dei Nostri Satanas Luciferi Excelsi" was a great hit, and as we've heard sofar, this CD is even stronger and more powerful. Release date is set to 4.12 and will be this years' last release.

Today, merely some page related things - important however:

There was something annoyingly wrong with the links for a few of the samples, as some of you might have noticed. One kind soul pointed me to this fact, and it is now fixed - was a silly thing really. Just wanted to say that please tell me if you stumble upon anything faulty, because I might not be aware, and I will fix it asap.

Also, I have been checking the statistics for the Cold Meat pages, and was infact surprised to see that there's actually quite alot more people visiting me than I had expected - this will hopefully motivate me to toil onwards. There is one thing however that bugs me and I thought you could perhaps help me out here - it seems there are quite a few who visit merely the first page, then disappear. There could be two main reasons for this:

One: - the obvious one, of course - they arrive at my page completely by accident, get scared by the seemingly weird contents of these pages, decide it's nothing for them, and take off...

Two- they really want to visit my pages, but the first page is so crammed with slowing graphics that they decide they don't have the time to wait, so they leave - sobbing, quietly.

The latter would be the bothersome one, so I need you to tell me how slow your link was when you got here. As it is important I get as many replies as is at all possible, I will make it easy for you. So just click away below - please.

How slow: -painful, -very, -manageable, -ok, -joyous.

One solution, if it proves there was a problem, would be for me to make an alternative first page - where you may pick a not-so-heavy page, and if you don't pick within five seconds it'll ship you onwards to the normal page you received today (in effect really no difference from the current situation hence, apart from the five second delay). I quite prefer graphics, else it gets sortof boring, and it would be a pity if those with fast connections would have to suffer because some connections suck.

This is: -a goodish idea, -dunno, -tedious, keep it the way it is.

[no more submits] - Thank you for your cooperation...

I spent the tuesday evening at the premiere opening of an electro-industrial-goth club here in Gothenburg, where i ran into Samuel Durling of Mental Destruction and Lina of Deutsch Nepal. I asked them, of course, what's happening. Samuel couldn't give me a date on when M.D's new release will be out, he had been ill for a while so i guess they are delayed a little. It will be on it's way though. He did say that Sanctum will release their album early next year, february probably. He had listened to it and could report that it is impressive... Samuel also said that there would be a concert/festival in Prague, december 16th-19th (or something such, this was off the top of his head), and that CMI bands would participate, but later Lina denied this - there had been a change of plans. Mental Destruction won't, after a while of heavy touring, be performing live until later next year, and Lina had no plans either for the near future. I asked him about upcoming releases but he mentioned some problems with the equipment etc. so i guess we'll have to wait. He didn't mention the tape that someone on the mailinglist posted about... Nice evening, all in all.

This is from a flyer they were distributing during the evening (i apologize for any repetition from the november 7th entry, below):

Brighter Death Now - Necrose Evangelicum CD

This is the ultimate sacro death-industrial atmospheres.
Beyone all Evil and Satanism we found pure darkness.

Ordo Equilibrio - Reaping the fallen... The first harvest CD

Dark bleak and monotonous sound with intelligent anti-- christian/satanic ideas - a genius mix of black-folk-industrial!

Mortiis - Keiser av en dimensjon ukjent CD/LP

Two new majestic pieces, filled with the dramatic scenery of the world of Mortiis. Music for emperors!

...and even Wolves - Cold Meat Sampler CD

Discover the northern darkness of Cold Meat. All acts from this flyer + more at a mini-price, full depression guaranteed!

    Penitent - Melancholia CD

Majestic poetry from the norse woods. Atmospheric music
      hailing the demons of death.

Aghast - Hexerei im Zweilicht der Finsternis CD

Demonic chants from the world below... Norwegian
witches, a dark and beautiful sound from the other side.

MZ.412 - In nomine dei nostri satanas luciferi excelsi CD

Truly dark, evil black-industrial satanics. The ultimate
satanic slaughter. The Vikings shows no mercy!!

Raison d'être - Within the depths of silence and phormations

New astonishing dark atmospheric ritual chants.
An expedition into your deeper self.

That's that. There are three new bandsnames appearing on the flyer, that i haven't heard of before; Penitent (see above), Aphrael and Puissance. And i note that In Slaughter Natives is not appearing anymore.

Lastly, some page-related news; I've updated the In Brief section to include the info on how to join the mailinglist, and I touched it up a little in general. Take a look at the Related page, and tell me what to add...

november 7th, 1995
After a while of my being withdrawn into silence - I'll try to give you a small update on what's going on. The reason for my absence is mainly that keeping this page up takes a lot of my time, and time i don't have too much of these days, sadly - and secondly that I really don't have much interesting information to share, other than what i could gather from the mailinglist.

So what are, actually, the news? Well, there are some CDs recently released, as well as some that are on the way. Here's a list (thanks Butch):

    Arcana -
Seems to be working on something, title to be announced.

Brighter Death Now - Necrose Evangelicum
Has recently been released and is availible.

Consono - Hymns for Deceased Deities
Should be on the way, if it's not out already?

    Mental Destruction -
    CD coming soon.

    Morthound - Spastic Waves
We will have to wait patiently until next year, it appears. Well worth it, I am sure.

Mortiis - Keiser av en Dimensjon Ukjent
Has been released and should be availible.

Also, on the label Death Factory, Tombstone has released the CD Gothic Land. On the new label Death Factory, Karmanik is going to release non-Scandinavian bands that he like - Tombstone is an Italian goth/industrial band. The sleeve design bears all the evidence of coming from the hands of mr Karmanik (although I am not at all sure this is actually the case). I haven't heard enough of it to say if the musical quality is of Cold Meat Industry standard as well, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Also II, Deutsch Nepal has released a new 7" on Ant-Zen. It's a limited edition picture disc called Environment and it shows D.N. from the more noisier side. Agressive rhythms and noise breakouts.

Also III, I haven't mentioned In Slaughter Native's Purgate my Stain CD that was released a while ago on Staalplaat, it seems to be an impressive disc.

Also IV, Peter Anderson of Raison d'être and Atomine Elektrine has a new project called Necrophorus. The CD is called Underneath the spirit of Tranquility on Cat's Heaven. It's supposed to be more internal and more sophisticated than his other works. Minimalistic, conceptual and soundscape oriented. More thought evoking and emotional than Anderson's other projects (all according to Ares/Eskhatos).

Don't forget to send in your order forms to get Great death III, it will be released on the 23rd of November, remember? There is a newsletter on the way any of these days, so really, there's a lot to look forward to...

I still have items to add to the Artist Discography, and there's articles and interviews to add to the Archive. Someone asked for a Mortiis interview, so i made an ascii version availible for you - it will be html-ized and added. Maybe I should put the reviews that has been posted to the mailinglist in the Archive too? Also, I will have to finish up the Label Discography - I do not own the latest releases and being fresh outof any money at all I won't probably get them in a while, so scans of the sleeves would be greatly appreciated. I've begun touching up the pages a little, adding backgrounds and using more netscape features - let's see what you think. The latest addition to the collection of pages was the Related page, amybe you've noticed. My intention was that this page would grow, when you start sending me URLs to interesting pages, so get to it! Also, if you have a page yourself, let me know...

I'm back again, from a little vacation (month+), to bring you some news. I've received word from finland where a fellow soul is setting up a Cold Meat Mailinglist. Here's his informaton:

    Greetings,
I posted a comment to your page about a mailing list idea. Last night, friend and I were discussing making one and since he works for an internet company he decided he could do it easily. So he did!

Introducing the Cold Meat Industry Mailing List:

    coldmeat-l

The list is coldmeat-l@teleport.com. To subscribe, simply send a message to: majordomo@teleport.com with a body of "subscribe coldmeat-l".

Please add this to your page as soon as you can if at all possible. Then we shall see the darkness race around the world...

    May all be well,
    Ares

I am on it, make sure you are too!

The soundfiles have been recovered, they're back in the sound section of the page (*phew*). Hopefully i'll make you some new ones soon... just need some spare time (where does it all go?).

Cold Meat has released Maschinenzimmer 412's CD just now, CMI.35. I will have to get back to you on how this disc sounds, but let's say, judging from the pictures of the band from the booklet, they look like Kiss did in 1978... hmmm, mysterious.

july 24th, 1995
My friend Butch Clough <cloughmb@marlin.ssnet.com> is telling me there's a web site for Cold Meat Industry's american distribution partner projekt darkwave at:
    http://charlotte.acns.nwu.edu/arielr/projekt.

It's an impressive site, so I advice you to go there for a taster to please your eye and, hopefully, ear.

Disaster! The soundfiles I had assembled has been removed, without notice, by some ignorant human being. I was using a friend's lab to sample some sounds, and the files were put on their disks (thanks for the space), at a more or less public place. Someone obviously found them useless and threw them away to use the space for something else - humour drawings it appears - so the samples are for ever gone... or are they? I know the system operators (I had their permission to borrow the space in the first place) so I've asked them if maybe they could check some old backup tapes for copies. I am in great need of a better place to put them though, so if anyone have a few meg's to spare, easily accessible through the web, please let me know.

Thanks to Renaud Langis <nakhob@mat.ulaval.ca>, we have a few sound bites to enjoy, take a look in the sound section. Thanks a bundle Renaud!

Also, before i go, try the new images at artwork page no.2. I will put some more pictures in here shortly, as soon as i find the time, do check in regularly...

After a long break, I am back again to tell you a little about what's going on with this page, and with Cold Meat. The reason I have been absent is that, firstly, it is summer, and secondly, I am working and i have quite a bit to travel (75 miles or so) to where i am updating this page. Towards the end of the summer, I am sure things will be back to normal, and I will have some time to, not only give you news, but also update the page with more pictures, sounds and hopefully work a little on the discographies.

And now for some better sounding news: I attended the concert in Borås on the 28th of april this year, and apart from being a superb concert (I may tell you about it later, but let's say Deutsch Nepal with a drummer is great to experience live), I met up with Roger Karmanik. He will supply me with information etc. and hopefully this will mean you get the most important news fairly quickly. I am sure this will be something to help make the page more interesting to read, so stay tuned, the future looks promising.

As for Cold Meat related news, Ordo Equilibrio and Aghast has released both their CDs, titled Reaping the fallen... the first harvest and Hexerei im Zweilicht der Finsternis respectively. These are Cold Meat releases number 32 and 33.

april 26th, 1995
I've made some changes to the pages, the first page you enter will from now on be a short title page from which you can reach what you wish. Hopefully this will make it easier and, also, keep the lenght of the pages down (apart from the Artist Discography page which will, for the time being, be rather extensive - i will devide it into one page for each group sometime). I've tried to make the pages look somewhat good when using both Mosaic and Netscape, though it's hard. The Recent Releases and Label Discography pages will appear shortly, i hope. That about that, as far as Cold Meat and related topics go, here's what news i have:

From france, Francois Denis <denis@cnam.fr> give us some information on the "Festival Musiques Ultimes" in France where Deutsch Nepal will be performing later in May:

The festival is in Nevers (120 miles from Paris, I think the train will be from the "gare de lyon"). It take place in the "theatre municipal de nevers" (describe as an old rococo theater of 300 seats). The festival takes place saturday May the 13 and Sunday May the 14. The price for the two days is 300FF (60 US $).

May the 13 concerts begin at 3 PM and ending 1 AM.
    The groups are:
    Andrew M Mc.Kenzie
    Deutsch nepal
    Advokat ihrer hoheit
    TAC
the moon lay hidden beneath cloud
    edward Ka-spel & silverman

May the 14 concerts begin at 1:30 Pm and ending 8:30 PM.
    the groups are:
    Batchas
    Inanna
    maeror tri
    Tony Wakeford et l'orchestre noir

    More stuff if you call white noise (france-dijon) 80 30 42 73

      Francois DENIS, mail: denis@cnam.fr

And Inanna has a new release out called Not.hing, on Dark Vinyl.
Here's what my friend Butch had to say about it, "...still has that classic Inanna sound, but each track has layers upon layers of darkness, always shifting and changing moods. Ranks among the best dark releases. Indeed it is dark, and very enjoyable."
And the Dark Vinyl catalogue, "New solo project by M. Stavöstrand, mastermind of Archon Satani. Music for catacombs, crypts and morgues, very atmospheric with lots of samples."

Atomine Elektrine has released their Elemental Severance a while ago, and Mortiis has their new album out as well. On the 23rd of march, Mental Destruction's old cassette When Madness Strike was released, if everything went according to plan. There are so many new releases these days that it's hard to keep track of them all, so i was thinking of putting together a little "Recent Releases" page, to make it a tad easier, stay tuned.
march 25th, 1995
Maschinenzimmer 412 has some new material in the works, maybe a release is on it's way? The european version of the latest label compilation CD And Even the Wolves... might include one of these new songs. This version of the sampler is told to be a little darker in the sound than the version released by projekt darkwave a little over a month ago, with pieces from BDN, the newcomers Aghast and Arcana (a Dead Can Dance sound-alike). The european version should be out in a couple of weeks.

On the 28th of april, Deutch Nepal, Genocide Organ and P2 are going to perform in Borås, more info to come...

march 6th, 1995
Ordo Equilibrio will have a new CD out in march, Reaping the fallen... The first harvest. Told to be a dark bleak and monotonous sound - a genious record. Looking forward to that one.

Aghast, the second Norwegian band on Cold Meat (Ildfrost being the other one), are about to release Hexerei im Zweilicht der Finsternis. Demonic chants from the world below... Norwegian witches, a dark and beautiful release.

february 22th, 1995
Deutch Nepal is scheduled to appear at a festival in France this coming may, together with, amongst others, Andrew McKenzie (of The Hafler Trio), Inanna and Sol Invictus. I would have liked to be able to go... :(
february 20th, 1995
Atomine Elektrine's CD Elemental Severance was released last week, so was the american version of And Even the Wolves... (see below). The forthcoming Mortiis CD will probably be released next week. I'll be back with more info as soon as i have it.

Also, while scanning some shops a few days ago, i found a new? CD by Archon Satani on the label Dark Vinyl, called In Shelter.

february 10th, 1995
I'm back on track, after a hectic christmas/new years' holiday and too much studying in january. I've been cleaning up the discography, so now it's hopefully a bit easier to read. I'll be continuing the work of adding items to it shortly, contributions are, of course, greatly appreciated.
I've received a lot of positive criticism (as well as shameless flatter :P), which makes me quite enjoy the work. As for news concerning CMI (what we are all here for):

There will be a concert in Borås, Sweden, on the 18th of february, where Brighter Death Now, Sanctum and Mental Destruction ar going to perform. I'll get back to you with the exact location, don't miss this one!
The concerthall is called Rockborgen, and the time is set to 20:00, be there!

New CD by Atomine Elektrine to be released in mid-february.

And Even the Wolves Hid their Teeth and Tongue Wherever Shelter was Given... Forthcoming compilation CD containing nearly all the bands currently signed to Cold Meat. The american version is to be released by darkwave in mid-february, the european version by CMI a month later. A nice-price compilation, probably around 75 SEK (US$ 10).

CD/LP in the beginning of march by Mortiis, Ånden som gjorde opprør. The LP will be limited to 300 (or so) copies.

Aghast, CD towards the summer.

also, CD's by Mental Destruction and Sanctum are to be released soon.

(most of this from Per Norström (tackar ödmjukast))
